During Ramadan, Fasting is valid from dawn to sunset. Specific actions are not allowed during Ramadan because Fasting allows Muslims to feel the pain of hunger and know how the needy feels.

Ramadan is the holiest month of the year. The followers of Islam respect this month. Muslims perform prayers and Fasts during Ramadan. They stay away from acts that are not allowed during Ramadan.

They avoid eating, drinking, self-vomiting, using alcohol, vulgar talk, lying, and sexual relations with spouses. All these actions(except alcoholic ) were done during the nights of Ramadan. Strangers(Na-mahram) can’t talk aimlessly in Fasting. It will harm their fast and prayers.

Things forbade during Ramadan.

There are the following things forbidden in Islam during Ramadan.

A. Related to Head & Mouth

1. Eating

Eating is not allowed during fast. You can eat healthy food at night and before dawn.

2. Drinks to avoid alcohol while fasting

Alcoholic drinks are highly prohibited in Islam during Ramadan, and it is senseless to say that it is not accepted. But because there are also Muslims in a few countries, like Nigeria, who drink alcohol, it must be declared that it is completely prohibited during Ramadan.

3. intentionally permitting the dust or smoke to enter the throat

Smoking is highly restricted during Ramadan. The act is a subject of malicious purpose in Islam, with some scholars instructing that it should be entirely avoided in everyday life. It is, however, not believed in whatever form during Fasting. Therefore, smoking invalidates the fast.

What about nicotine use?

There is nothing wrong with using this dressing because it is not sustaining the nicotine and does not go to the stomach through the open pass. It is drunk by the body through the conscious and the blood, just like when the body absorbs water while bathing. Therefore, it does not harm fast. Since this is not administered through the mouth, it does not harm the fast.

4. Vomiting intentionally

If the vomiting is intentional by punching fingers inside the throat or purposely viewing nasty stuff or due to any other reason, then the fast would be broken.

On the other hand, if a person has no part in the ‘antiperistalsis’ movement or vomiting and it comes unexpectedly or unintentionally, he should continue his Fasting. Otherwise, it’s not allowed even for medical purposes.

5. Sexual intercourse

The husband is permitted to have sexual intercourse with his wife at night during Ramadan. It is not allowed in possibility one is observing i’tikaf in the Masjid. Sheikh Ahmad, an Islamic scholar, said there is absolutely nothing wrong with a married couple in amusing marital relations, including sexual intercourse, during the nights of Ramadan.

They refrain from such activities from the appearance of Fajir until sunset. According to the Holy book, you are permitted to go untouched by your wives on the night of Ramadan.

6. Staying in the state of Janabat till the time of Fajr (dawn)

Suppose a person in Janabat in Ramadan forgets to carry Ghusl. He remembers it after one day. He should observe the Gaza of the fast of that day. And if he remembers it after a few days, he should observe the Gaza of the fasts.

All those days, he is ensured to have been in Jana’s bat. For example, if he is still determining whether he was in Jana bat for three days or four. He should observe fast for three days.

A person becomes June and then moves to sleep without doing the usual. He will break his fast. The intention of not doing ghusl before dawn and then Fasting is haram.

With a choice of doing ghusl before Fajr (dawn):

  • If you did not wake up before dawn, then fast is valid.
  • If you woke up once and went back to sleep till Fajr fast, do the ghusl.
  • If you woke up twice & went back to sleep till Fajr, then fast did the ghusul, it is necessary to pay kaffara.

Women in a state of Haiz (period) for 5 to 6 days. When the bleeding stops, They can take Gushue and perform fast.

7. The discharge of Semen

Semen is a greyish-white liquid that is secreted by the gonads of males. The discharging of Semen without sex during Fasting will be a haram fast. According to scholars, a day of Fasting should supersede the invalid one. They disagree on whether painful forgiveness can be applied to that person; therefore, it is not allowed during Ramadan.

8. Using a liquid Enema

The injected liquid surpasses an internal body hole through an open orifice. According to scholars, an enema invalidates the fast if used. The scholar, Al-Lakhmiy describes that an enema is permissible and does not break the fast. It is one statement of the Shafi’i school as conveyed by judge Hussain.

C . Moral and Ethical

9. Kizb

Kizb is a word that conveys the significance and disagrees with another word’s meaning. It is a case when two words are antonyms of each other. It is the highest type of lying to ascribe a statement to Allah, the Prophets, and the Imams.

Fast, is Haram or invalid with these sins? These actions only make the fast invalid (batil) if done willingly. But the fast is still valid if it is done unknowingly or by error.

10. unmarried couples vs. married couples During Ramadan,

A wedding is allowed during Ramadan. Engaged couples should fast. Muslim Unmarried couples can’t talk to each other during Fasting. It is haram during and after Ramadan. Married Couples can kiss during Ramadan, but nothing is better than that.

Kissing and Hugging your wife is good, and it does break your fast. It is clear from Hadith that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to kiss and hug His wives while fasting.

Ramadan is a beautiful month in the Islamic calendar. Every Muslim must refrain from acts that are not allowed during Ramadan. These actions include Eating, drinking, smoking, use of alcohol, self-vomiting, having sexual intercourse, remaining in janabbat, and lying.
